Understanding Zenro and Zoho
What is ZENRO?
ZENRO builds intelligent Zoho extensions — ready-made business solutions that run on Zoho One. Our brands include Builders Excellence for building and construction, ZERP for wholesale, retail and manufacturing, Billio Professional for professional services firms, and MAW Extensions for implementation partners.
What is Zoho?
Zoho is a global software company that makes business applications used by more than 150 million people around the world.
Instead of buying separate software for sales, accounting, projects, customer service and everything in between, Zoho gives you one connected set of tools that all work together.
Your Zoho One account brings over 50 of these applications into a single Zoho subscription, so information entered in one place, is available everywhere it's needed.
Zoho was founded in 1996, is privately owned and profitable, and doesn't sell your data or run advertising. That means it's focused on building better software for its customers, not answering to investors or advertisers.
Our vertical solutions are built on Zoho One, set up specifically for your industry.
Why choose a Zoho vertical over software built for my industry?
Industry software is built for a small market. Fewer customers means less money to spend on new features, so development tends to be slow.
Zoho is different. It now serves more than 150 million users worldwide, which funds powerful tools that work for any industry. The catch has always been setup. Shaping Zoho to fit a specific industry takes time and money, which is why it's usually only large businesses that can afford it. itbrief
That's the gap our verticals fill. We've already done the work of setting Zoho up for your industry, so you get software that's more powerful than traditional industry applications, without paying to build it yourself.
The proof is in who uses it. Even industry software like Buildertrend and Wunderbuild relies on Zoho for parts of their service. Our verticals use the whole of Zoho.
Who is behind ZENRO?
ZENRO solutions are powered by Zoho and designed, delivered and supported by Zenro Consulting Pty Ltd, an award-winning Zoho Advanced Partner and Zoho's Innovation Partner of the Year for Australia and New Zealand since 2024. Our team of more than 20 full-time specialists is led by Directors with over 25 years' experience in software implementation.
Who will I be working with?
With our Premium Support package, a dedicated consultant leads your implementation from start to finish, backed by the full Zenro Consulting team.
Zoho covers a lot of ground, and no single person is an expert in all of it. Your consultant is your main point of contact and knows your business, while developers, integration specialists and other experts step in as your project needs them. You get one consistent voice, plus the depth of a whole team behind it.
That team has stayed together. Since we started in 2016, we haven't lost a single developer, so the people who learn your business stay with your business. We believe the way we treat each other shapes the way we look after our clients, and that shows in the consistency and continuity you get as your system grows.
Choosing and adapting your solution
What if my business doesn't fit neatly into one solution?
Most businesses don't need a scope. Each solution is built for a specific industry, so if yours matches, you can get started straight away.
A scope helps when things are less clear-cut. That might be because your business works a little differently from the standard setup, or because you do more than one thing — like a builder that also manufactures products in a warehouse.
In those cases, we review your documents and processes, then recommend the right mix, along with any changes you'll need. Solutions can be combined, so you get one connected system rather than separate ones.
Before you commit, we'll show you what we're recommending, and tell you up front what it will cost and how long it will take.
Can I still customise my Zoho account?
Yes. Your solution comes with an advanced setup, but underneath it's still Zoho One. You have access to all the same settings, configuration and development tools as any other Zoho One customer.
That means you can add fields, change layouts, build your own automations, or remove anything you don't need. It's your system, and you're free to shape it however suits your business.
We do recommend talking to us before you delete anything. Many parts of the solution are connected, so removing something that looks unused can stop another function from working. A quick conversation first makes sure you don't lose something you rely on.
Will my solution use AI?
Yes, where it helps.
There are three ways to update your business system:
- You do it yourself — typing information in by hand.
- An automation does it — the system does the job for you, exactly as instructed.
- AI does it — you tell it what you want, and it works out how to do it.
AI is quick and easy to use, but it has to understand what you asked for, and it doesn't always get it right.
Here's a simple way to think about it. Do you use AI to write emails or documents? Most people say yes. Would you let it send them without checking first? Almost everyone says no.
That's the difference. An automation does exactly what it's told, every time. AI makes its best guess.
Our solutions include over 1,000 automations, and we use AI where automations can't do the job.
When used properly together, the solution is powerful and eliminates most of the manual data entry in your business.
Can I suggest changes to the widgets?
Yes, and we'd love to hear them. While the widget code itself can't be changed or accessed, many of our best features started as ideas from the businesses using them.
When you share a suggestion, we look at whether it would benefit other users too. If it does, we build it in, so everyone gets a better solution.
If your idea is unique to your business, we can still build it for you, for a development fee. The feature is made available only to your business, but it's built into the same core code as everything else. That means it's maintained and updated along with the rest of the solution, rather than becoming a one-off add-on that falls behind.
Implementation, licences and support
Will I be left to set it up on my own?
No. With most software, you sign up and you're on your own. You might get training videos or a help desk, but no one is managing the project or making sure it actually gets done. That's where many implementations stall, and it's where we're different.
Zenro Consulting is a consulting business first, so we don't just hand over the software and walk away. Through our support agreements, we project manage your implementation from start to finish:
- We run your project, keeping everything on track and moving forward.
- We record every meeting, so nothing that's discussed or decided gets lost.
- We manage your action items, making sure everyone knows what needs to be done, by whom, and when.
We'll also keep pushing you to get the most out of your system, not just to get it running.
We can work directly with your team, with your chosen Zoho Partner, or with both.
Can you move my data from my current software?
Yes. Zoho has powerful import tools, so we can bring across your customers, suppliers, price lists, project records and more.
The first step is getting your data out of your current system. Most software lets you export your data, but what you can export varies between applications. We recommend checking with your current provider to see what's available. If you can export it, we can import it.
Exported data isn't always ready to go straight in. It may need formatting, tidying up or duplicates removed first. We can take care of this for you through our support agreement, so your new system starts with clean, reliable data.
How many Zoho users do I need to pay for?
You'll need a Zoho user licence for each of your employees who uses the system. Portal users, such as customers and subcontractors, are included in your subscription at no extra cost.
You'll also need to allow our team access to your account so we can set it up, maintain it and support you. Zoho doesn't give partners free access to client accounts, so we recommend adding one extra user licence for our team.
We recommend this because every action we take is then recorded under our own name in your account's audit history. You can see exactly what we've changed and when, which keeps everything transparent.
If you'd prefer not to add a licence, we can work through a shared login or remote access instead. It still works, but our changes won't be separately tracked.
Do I have to pay for portal users?
No. Portal users are included in your setup, so you can invite as many clients, suppliers or contractors as you need at no extra cost per user.
For most businesses, that's the end of it. However, if your portal handles a very high volume of data, an additional usage fee may apply. This covers the extra hosting and processing required, and will be set out clearly in your API agreement, so there are no surprises.
Can I work with a different Zoho Partner?
Yes. You're not tied to Zenro Consulting. We work with other Zoho Partners to implement our solutions, so you can choose the partner you're most comfortable with.
Your solution's hosting and support stay in place either way. We offer support packages to suit different arrangements, so you keep full access no matter who you work with day to day.
You can find the details on our support packages page.
Security, ownership and continuity
Where is my data stored, and is it secure?
Your data is stored in Zoho's own data centres. Australian businesses can keep their data in Zoho's Australian data centre, and if you operate globally, you can choose another region, such as the US or Europe. We'll help you choose the right one when we set up your account.
Zoho takes security seriously at every level:
- Your data is encrypted, both while it's being sent and while it's stored, so it can't be read if intercepted.
- The data centres are protected around the clock, with strict physical access controls, backup power and ongoing monitoring.
- Zoho is independently audited, and holds internationally recognised security certifications such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2.
- Zoho doesn't sell your data or use it for advertising.
- Logins can be protected with two-factor authentication, so a stolen password alone isn't enough to get in.
Some of our solutions also connect Zoho to other systems, such as accounting software or supplier portals. These integrations run on Amazon Web Services (AWS), one of the world's most trusted cloud providers. They connect to your Zoho account using secure API keys, which work like access passes: each one only allows the integration to do the job it was built for, and can be withdrawn at any time.
Inside your system, access is controlled too. Permissions decide who can see and do what, so your staff only see the information their role requires.
Who owns the intellectual property?
We protect everyone's intellectual property.
Your business stays yours. Anything specific to how you run your business — your processes, templates and custom requirements — is kept private and never shared with other clients.
The widgets belong to Zenro. Our widgets are our intellectual property, so they can't be copied or reverse engineered.
Shared ideas benefit everyone. When a suggestion improves a widget for all users, it becomes part of the widget, so every business gets the benefit.
If I cancel, can I get my data back?
Yes. Your data belongs to you, and you can take it with you at any time.
Zoho includes a built-in backup tool that lets you export all your business data whenever you need it. You can also schedule regular backups, so you always have an up-to-date copy of your own.
Only authorised users can run a backup, so your data can't be downloaded by just anyone in your team.
If you do decide to leave, we recommend running a full backup before you cancel, so you have everything you need.
What happens if Zenro Consulting goes out of business?
It's a fair question to ask of any software provider.
First, your data is always safe. It's stored in your own Zoho One account, not with us, so your records stay yours no matter what.
Second, every solution is built from three parts — modules, automations and widgets:
- Modules are where your information is organised, such as jobs, estimates or service agreements. They're set up using Zoho's standard tools and sit inside your own Zoho account.
- Automations are built using Deluge, Zoho's own programming language. They also sit inside your account, where you can see them, and any Zoho developer or partner can maintain or change them.
- Widgets, along with the APIs that connect your system to other software, are Zenro's protected intellectual property. They're maintained and supported by our team, and their code isn't accessible to other parties.
Third, we're not going anywhere. Zenro Consulting has been working with Zoho since 2016, and our solutions are used by businesses around the world. We've built a stable team — we haven't lost a single developer since we started — and our support agreements mean we're invested in our clients' long-term success, not just the initial sale.
